Lauren Crouch is a London-based blogger who runs “No Bad Dates, Just Good Stories,” a blog about her misadventures in the dating game.

Let’s just say that it’s a good thing she can find humor in these situations, because things get strange — even for Tinder.

It all started when Lauren met her date at a tube station in London. She said she knew a nice independent coffee shop nearby, but her date said “nah”, suggesting they go to Costa Coffee instead to save crossing the road.

Within the first twenty minutes of the date he invited her to his house for dinner (which she declined); and he cut the date off early so he could receive a grocery delivery at his apartment.

That wasn’t the end, however, as he sent her these texts the same evening.

She said no, but dude was determined.

Then this happened.

Lauren was ready with the perfect response.

Because things weren’t awkward enough, he came back with this:

“I had offered to pay for my coffee at the time, and he’d insisted,” she explained. “I always pay my way on dates. It’s lucky I hadn’t accepted his offer of dinner otherwise he would have expected me to pay his grocery bill. Or half the electricity for the time I’d been in the house.”

He hasn’t contacted her since, so hopefully he’s very happy alone and home with his groceries.
